Dedicated and determined - two words that describe Priscilla and Magret, co-directors of Fountain of Life Community School. They are deeply dedicated to the mission of their school - providing quality education, spiritual and moral support, and life-sustaining skills to orphans and vulnerable children in Ng’ombe. Despite passing through countless challenges over the last 2 decades, they have persevered through each one of them because of their commitment to their students. Dedication!
Having been equipped through Impact One’s training and mentoring programs, they are also diligent at seeking out new partners to help them achieve their mission - sometimes walking for hours each day to distribute request letters at different international schools and organizations. Determination!
Once again, this dedication to their mission and determination to achieve it has yielded remarkable results. Through the support of partners, Priscilla and Magret have bought and converted a small house into their new school building! Owning their own building has been a dream for as long as we’ve known them, and now it’s finally a reality. They are no longer burdened with paying rent each month, and they are free to develop this school to better serve their students and achieve their mission. This achievement is absolutely monumental!
Since the reopening of schools in February, the teachers and children have been settling into the new location. But in true Priscilla and Magret style, they are already planning for how they can expand the classrooms to be more effective for learning, and they are inviting others to join them.
Dedicated and determined - these two women are changing lives day after day. Not only are they equipping their students through daily lessons, but they are setting an example for how to endure life’s challenges with dedication and determination.
