We are in the process of inviting more schools to join our program. And in order to serve them well, we need more space at our Center to accommodate more students, teachers, and educational resources. Having purchased land back in 2019, the time has finally come to begin our expansion project.
This month, we launched Phase 1 of our project. The goal was to demolish the old structure and lay the foundation for a new one. In just one month, we completed Phase 1 and added in a few extra projects along the way. Take a look at the pictures below to see the work in progress.
BEFORE PICTURES
We brought in a construction crew of 12 guys to start our expansion. And some days, we hired a few extra to help us along with all of the work.
In just one week, the crew had demolished and cleared the rubble from the existing structure. Next, they dug a trench, poured the concrete footer, and began building the foundation up with blocks. Hard work all by hand!
After the foundation was built and filled in, it was finally time to pour the concrete floor. We rented a few concrete mixers to make the job go faster, and the crew pushed hard to get the work done in one day. After the sun went down, they held up flashlights on their phones to help the crew level the concrete.
This new building will serve as our main library for the children, as well as a teacher training center during school breaks. With much more space, we will be able to accommodate many more children during our Library visits and more teachers in our training events!
Along with laying the foundation for the new building, the crew also began renovating another office and storage space for us, as well as set up a tank for water storage and constructed two bathrooms. It’s been a busy month full of hard work. Take a look at the place now!

Now that Phase 1 is complete, we will begin fundraising for Phase 2 - building the walls and putting on the roof to make a complete structure for our bigger and better Library and Training Center!
Thank you for all your support as we strive to impact more students and teachers with life-changing educational opportunities.
